On April 24, 2020, the U.S. Trade Representative notified Congress that the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA) will take effect on July 1, 2020. The USMCA has significant differences from its predecessor, the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), along with new requirements that will have profound implications for many companies, especially those in the automotive industry.
