Jesse S. Stavis practices in the areas of traditional labor and employment law. Mr. Stavis represents private sector and non-profit employers in litigation at both the state and federal level in a range of employment matters, including issues related to unionization and collective bargaining, age, race, gender, and disability discrimination, sexual harassment, and wage and hour law. He frequently represents employers in labor and employment arbitration proceedings and before various administrative agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission.
Mr. Stavis also advises employers on a range of workplace issues, including compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing the workplace. Mr. Stavis assists employers by reviewing and drafting employment policies and handbooks and termination and severance agreements.
Mr. Stavis is a 2022 cum laude graduate of Cornell Law School, where he was notes editor of the Cornell Law Review. In 2016, he received a Ph.D. and in 2010 an M.A. in Slavic Languages and Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and in 2007 he received a B.A. in Russian from Haverford College. He is fluent in Russian.
