NEW YORK, February 24, 2025Eric A. Boden has joined Duane Morris LLP as a partner in the firm’s Trial Practice Group in its New York office. Prior to joining Duane Morris, Boden was an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey. Admitted to practice in New York, Boden’s admission to New Jersey is also pending.

“Duane Morris continues to attract talent to our ranks, and Eric Boden has tremendous experience in the public sector, particularly in the healthcare and financial industries,” said Duane Morris Chairman and CEO Matthew A. Taylor.

“We have a strong roster of attorneys with deep experience in government matters, and Eric is well known to many of us within Duane Morris. He arrives at our firm with a strong network of colleagues and clients, and we’re pleased to add him to our practice,” said Sharon L. Caffrey, co-chair of Duane Morris’ Trial Practice Group. “Eric’s background and experience is very synergistic with our White Collar Division and will add to what we can offer clients,” said Stephen H. Sutro, co-chair of Duane Morris’ Trial Practice Group.

As attorney in charge of the Trenton Branch Office of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, Boden led an office of 21 Department of Justice personnel, including 10 federal prosecutors, in the investigation and prosecution of criminal cases involving, among other offenses, healthcare fraud, bank fraud, securities fraud, complex financial fraud, tax evasion, money laundering, cybercrime, political corruption, government program fraud, narcotics trafficking and violent crimes. He was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the branch office’s litigation and strategy, including leading long-term grand jury investigations, managing case teams, discovery, motions practice, negotiating resolutions, charging, trial, motions, sentencing, appeal and forfeiture. During his decade-long tenure as an Assistant United States Attorney, Boden supervised and tried nearly two-dozen jury trials to verdict and authored five appellate briefs on behalf of the government before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, successfully arguing two of those appeals before the Third Circuit. He investigated cases occurring across the United States and in Europe, Asia and Africa, while directing federal agents from the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, Postal Inspection Service, IRS-CI, Secret Service, DEA, ATF and local authorities. Boden also coordinated with SEC enforcement and trial lawyers in connection with parallel prosecutions of companies and individuals charged with securities violations.

“I’m looking forward to collaborating with colleagues across the Duane Morris platform and to contribute to the firm’s terrific litigation practice,” said Boden. “Together with such a talented group of litigators, I am confident we will continue to provide exceptional service to our clients and further strengthen our reputation for excellence in the legal field.”

Boden is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law and Cornell University.
