Scott D. Kravetz, P.A. is managing partner of the firm's Miami office and a member of the firm's governing Partners Board. Mr. Kravetz focuses his practice in the area of civil litigation, with particular emphasis on real estate and construction litigation, including cost overrun, delay, design-defect and surety/bond litigation. He has represented numerous owners and developers in projects at all levels of complexity, from simple contract disputes to construction disputes with claims in excess of $50 million.

Mr. Kravetz is a 1989 graduate of the University of Miami School of Law and a graduate of the University of Florida.

Representative Matters

  • Secured $4.2 million judgment on behalf of luxury apartment developer The Hermitage St. Pete, LLC, in its suit against Swinerton Builders Inc. over construction delays in building a $52 million luxury apartment complex in St. Petersburg, Florida.

  • Represented developer of LaTour Condominium, a high rise condominium complex located in Miami Beach, in resolving matters related to construction defects, delays and cost overruns.

  • Represented Lennar Homes, one of the largest home builders across the country, in multiple representations, including single family homes and community wide litigation, over a 20 year period throughout the State of Florida.

  • Represented Arvida/JMB, formerly one of the leading homebuilders in the State of Florida, against construction defect claims in multiple communities post Hurricane Andrew.

  • Represented the developer of Skyline Brickell, a luxury high-rise apartment in Miami's Brickell Financial District, against contractor concerning defects, delays and cost overruns in an $80 million high rise apartment building project.

  • Represented the developer of the Bentley Hotel, located in South Beach, on matters related to construction defects, delays and cost overruns.

  • Represented the developer of Surfcomber Hotel, a high end hotel located in South Beach, Miami, against the contractor concerning defects, delays and cost overruns.

  • Represented the developer of Shore Club Hotel, a high end hotel located in South Beach, Miami, against the contractor concerning defects, delays and cost overruns.

  • Represented the developer of Fontainebleau Hotel, one of the premier hotels in the United States, on matters related to construction defects, delays, and cost overruns.

  • Represented the developer of 1800 Club Condominium, a 42 story high-rise condominium project north of Downtown Miami, against the building's contractor and its surety. Claims involved included construction defects, cost overruns, and delays.

  • Represented the developer of a Holiday Inn located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, in matters related to construction defects, delays and cost overruns.

  • Represented the developer of Kleman Towers, a high-rise condominium located in Tallahassee, Florida, against contractor concerning defects, delays, and cost overruns.

  • Represented the developer of The Allen Morris Companies, in connection with the development and construction of a luxury mid-rise apartment complex. Claims involved included project delays and construction defects.

  • Represented the Miami Dolphins in connection with the renovations to the Miami Dolphins football stadium and the addition of the steel canopy roof.

  • Represented AT&T in multiple representations across the State of Florida against delay claims relating to relocation of utility lines/fiber optic cables.

  • Represented the developer of Hollywood Beach's "Trump Condominium" in a multi-million dollar construction defect lawsuit concerning the design and construction of Trump Condominium.

  • Represented the developer of Constructa in the Jefferson Steps multi-use project with a luxury high-rise condominium in the heart of South Beach. Claims involved included construction defects, delays and cost overruns.

  • Represented a joint venture partner in disputes with contractor and other joint venture partner concerning delays and cost overruns for a multi-use $500 million project with a major commercial component and four high rise condos in Midtown Miami.

  • Represented one of the Joint Venture Partners of the Design 41 Project in a partnership dispute over the development and construction of the mixed use Project in the heart of Miami's Design District.

  • Represented the Office of the Comptroller for the State of Florida in connection with a major mortgage and Ponzi scheme.
