Wednesday, November 17, 2021 | Live Update from COP26 Glasgow and the Impact of SDGs on Consumer Products

Among the nonfinancial criteria businesses must increasingly consider to stay relevant to their employees, customers and boards is ESG ‒ Environmental, Social and Governance. Beyond making smart business sense, ESG initiatives can help drive efficiency, increase engagement and involve constituents in critical ecological and social improvements. Increasingly, investors and money managers want to know that a company does more than just turn a profit; indeed, having a positive impact on the world at large is now often a metric used to gauge the long-term health and viability of a commercial enterprise. Investments in real estate and development are now being evaluated for ESG sustainability by and for players in capital markets. Critically important to consumer companies is implementation of the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the SDGs are an important part of planning for these companies in the decade ahead. We will also share a live update from speakers who are in attendance at the COP26 meeting in Glasgow.
