CHICAGO, September 17, 2019Daniel O. Canales has joined Duane Morris LLP as a partner to lead the firm’s labor and employment practice in Chicago. Canales further enhances the firm’s employment litigation and counseling capabilities. Prior to joining Duane Morris, Canales was a shareholder at Ogletree Deakins.

Canales advises, litigates and negotiates on behalf of companies in labor, employment, commercial and other civil-related matters in state and federal courts and agencies throughout the United States. Aside from regularly first-chairing the defense of companies in a variety of complex employment litigation matters, he also routinely advises companies on labor and employment issues, conducts HR training, investigations and audits, and handles contract, noncompete and due diligence matters. Canales’ clients range from small businesses to large multinational conglomerates, primarily in the manufacturing, distribution, retail and healthcare industries. He was previously a senior consultant in the Human Capital practice of Deloitte, where he advised and negotiated on behalf of companies on a variety of HR issues.

Canales is a graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law (J.D., 2008), and of Northwestern University (B.A., 2001), where he was an Evans Scholar.
