PHILADELPHIA, May 12, 2010—Duane Morris is pleased to announce that it has been cited as one of seven firms in the 2010 Honor Roll of Legal Organizations Welcoming Women Professionals. Created by the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Commission on Women in the Profession (WIP), the annual list recognizes law firms that are committed to diversity and provide tools to enable women lawyers to continue and advance in their professional careers. They include flexible work schedules, backup childcare, networking events and other innovative programs. The award will be formally announced at the WIP's 17th Annual Luncheon Program in Hershey, Pa., on May 12.
Honorees are selected based on nominations submitted to the WIP's Report Card Committee. The WIP is composed of 12 chair members and more than 750 attorneys seeking to secure full and equal participation of women in the PBA, the legal profession and the justice system.
The Report Card Committee, a task force within the WIP, surveys the status of women in the legal profession in Pennsylvania and prepares an annual report card based on its findings. Its research includes law firms, as well as government, judicial, legislative and political offices.
The Duane Morris Women's Initiative, led by partners Sharon Caffrey and Sandra Jeskie, was designed by and for Duane Morris women attorneys. The Initiative formally brings together women attorneys throughout the firm to exchange ideas, foster and expand business contacts and opportunities, and enhance attorney development.
